Heart of the Bujinkan
 Vol. I (Basics) DVD

Shidoshi Chris Carbonaro, together with Crosswind Pictures, releases Volume I of his Bujinkan instructional DVD series, entitled "Heart of the Bujinkan". This DVD not only includes instruction on the core fundamentals of Bujinkan Budo Taijutsu/Ninjutsu, the Sanshin no Kata and the Kihon Happo, but also includes an added bonus feature of live training at the Tanuki Dojo in Long Branch, NJ. When asked for the motivation behind the project series, Shidoshi Carbonaro answered,

"My main goal was to produce a DVD series that would be an effective supplement to any budoka's training, regardless of rank or time training in this martial art. Future volumes will include more in-depth training in both unarmed techniques and weapons, but no advanced techniques are effective without a strong foundation to build upon. I hope this first DVD can help strengthen that foundation."

Heart of the Bujinkan DVD Reviews

"A great DVD!! Shidoshi Carbonaro does an excellent job of bringing the Bujinkan community something that it really needs, the basics. The DVD covers the San Shin no Kata, Kosshi Kihon Sanpo Gata, and the Torite Kihon Gata. All presented in a clear and easy to understand manner. Carbonaro Sensei does a fine job in pointing out some of the key principles of everything shown.

I would highly recommend this DVD to beginners as well as advanced Bujinkan practitioners. It will serve to bring everyone a stronger understanding of the kihon in the Bujinkan. Thanks to Shidoshi Carbonaro for this awesome DVD!"

"Shidoshi Chris Carbonaro provides a very clear demonstration of fundamentals for the aspiring Ninja. As someone new to Bujinkan, I have found this incredibly more useful than photos and descriptions in books. You get to hear the Japanese names properly pronounced, see the elements executed several times in practice and in application. I am really looking forward to the next release in this series."
